At its heart, Prank-O is a comedy company hell-bent on making gift-giving fun again. They do it with prank gift boxes featuring screamingly funny, hilariously awful, but scarily plausible products that don’t really exist. After an impressive turn on Shark Tank in 2018, the Minnesota-based company took off with investment from Mark Cuban.
While gag gift boxes are particularly popular during the winter holidays, Prank-O needed our help leveraging their email program to boost revenue and engagement year-round.
Our approach was to capitalize on the additional holiday-time interest with an increased email cadence and thoughtful promotions, and then to continue building email lists and engaging users throughout the year with funny, well-timed, and smartly segmented email campaigns and automations, building and maintaining relationships with customers until their next purchase. Additionally, we implemented a component-based email design system that would engage and amuse users while effectively showcasing the brand’s breadth of product and lifestyle photos.
